Media Center is a home entertainment product which was first released by Microsoft for Christmas 2002. It combines TV recording (PVR) functions with the ability to interact with all the Music, Video's, Picture you have on your computer through a remote driven interface. Media Center also allows you to use your current DVD movie collection, FM Radio (if hardware exists), Internet Radio and Online Services through the same interface.
Media Center Extenders are devices which work in partnership with a Media Center 2005 PC and allow you to bring most of the experience from your Media Center computer to the TV easily using a wired or wireless network connection. This is great for example if you want to have your Media Center machine out of the way with the cable decoder in another room and have just the extender and a dvd player in the living room.
