Tuner Priority v1.0.3.2 - 27/11/2006
This utility allows you to make the following changes on your Media Center PC
Enable and Disable tuner cards in the system
Set which card should be used to view Live TV with first
Set which card should be used to record on first
In normal use there shouldn't really be a need to use this utility, however if you have tuner cards from two different manufactures and prefer the quality from one over the other, have a weaker signal on one or one card is slightly defective you may find benefit in picking which should be used first. The priority settings only affects which card is to be used if both are not currently in use, you may not get your preferred choice under all circumstances. Before making any changes please close the Media Center application and end any currently recordings.
System Requirements:
Windows XP Media Center 2005 with or without rollup 1 or 2
Either dual analogue and/or ATSC/DVB-T tuner cards installed in the Media Center PC
This software will not work on systems which have been hacked to use more than 2 tuners of the same type (i.e. 3 NTSC tuners). On a system with dual ATSC and analogue tuners a message will be presented when you first start the application to pick the target card pair.

This utility allows you to quickly remove certain parts of the registry and application data which relate to the Media Center application. There are a few reasons you may wish to so this, such as when changing hardware, want to reset the configuration to attempt to solve a problem caused by corrupt application data. Or just simply want to clear up and start again. It also features a compainion application which allows you to backup
and restore your current recording schedule.
In its default operation it will do the following
Stop running Media Center processes
Remove the ehome application data folder
Remove certain Machine and User entries under HKEY (Local Machine/Current User)\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion \Media Center (Now including TV Tuner settings)
Then offer the ability to delete all recorded TV shows and the detected tuner configuration in the registry. Please note that running this application will also remove your guide data, some Media Center user preferences and clear any upcoming recordings. After reconfiguring your machine you will need to setup any series or one time recordings again.

Key Features:
All legacy code gone, rewritten in .Net 2.0
Reset and Restore programs in 1.0x are now a self contained EXE
Automatic (and safer) Service shutdown and restart
3 Selectable Modes of Operation (Registry/Application Data/Max - Everything)
TV Recording Schedule Import/Export
WMP Library and Transcode Cache Reset for Current User and Extender accounts
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS VERSION IS QUITE EARLY AND MAY CAUSE DAMMAGE TO YOUR INSTALLATION. UNDER MEDIA CENTER 2005 I HAVE NOT EXPIRENCED THIS BUT IT IS BEST TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL.

Ident Set v1.0
18/10/2006
This application allows you to set your Media Center systems ident value to any other releases version which used this flag, or set the value to what it should be automatically. The ident value is a registry key which signifies a particular level of Media Center, this is often used by applications to check for a particular version of MCE (i.e. MCE 2004 = 2.0). For more details on the ident see http://www.salloway.org.uk/MediaCenter/2004/version.htm
There are 5 main scenarios for using this application
1) An upgrade from an earlier version of Media Center failed to update the ident blocking applications (i.e. Media Player 11 Beta)
2) You want to try and force the install of an application designed for a later version
3) You want to install an application designed for an earlier version that doesn't accept > required ident
4) Want to know the version of MCE installed without looking at tables and registry keys
5) You wish to set the value of "Media Center PC x.x" in the Internet Explorer User Agent (Version posted when viewing a page from within ehshell is not modified by this release).

Enable E4
This registry file removes the TV Channel E4 on UK Over the Air Digital ('Freeview') from the Media Center 2005 channel exclusion list.
After applying this file you will need to rescan for digital services in Settings > TV > Scan for more services, if you are unable to detect
the channel, Delete all the currently detected services and scan again.
If my tools here have helped you or you think you have discovered a bug please email me at fatherjack@mvps.org. When doing this please tell me the version of the application and Media Center you are using. If you have downloaded a program from another site check if the current version on this site fixes the issue.
Notes on International Support:
My applications were written for the English Edition of Media Center and no testing is done by me on other languages. If you run into an issue I'm sorry, but as I'm sure you can imagine it is not possible for me to test on every language. I am currently considering adding some testing on Swedish and Russian languages. Of course if you report a bug to me specifically to do with a localisation issue I will try to correct it if it is feasible.
